So I was at the cafe today, writing your next big blog post… when something happened that made me smile.
A pretty girl began giving me some eye contact.
Now, unfortunately for this girl… I’m married.
(Moreover she did not compose herself in a very feminine way, so I wasn’t attracted — big mistake on her part, it reduced her beauty substantially)
But, it was a reminder of how easy this stuff can be if you’re paying attention.
This girl and I locked eye contact 2-3 times.
I admit the first time I looked at her, because I was curious about her. Not your typical cafe girl.
Anyway, she caught me looking, and returned it.
I didn’t react.
A few minutes later, she asked me a question about the internet.
After that, over the next hour I’d catch her looking at me again.
But that wasn’t all.
When the long table I was sitting at emptied… she moved across the cafe and sat down diagonal to me.
Obviously waiting for me to say something to her.
She wanted a little cafe date.
She wanted me to approach.
(Poor girl, I had to disappoint her)
Why am I telling you this?
Because I see this stuff happening with women every day.
Them basically throwing themselves at men, hoping men will take action.
It’s not that I’m unique. (being honest I was a pretty disheveled)
Rather, it’s because of three things:
-my energy is strong
– there is a lack of leadership among men today
– men are so dense they can’t read signs of interest
I’m going to let you guys in on a little secret, friends:
Dating isn’t harder than it used to be.
In fact, it’s easier.
The problem is just that everyone has gotten bad not only at understanding the opposite sex… but interacting with people in general.
Too tied to technology to learn how to talk to others.
Too in their own head to pay attention to the signals.
Sucks, I guess.
Except that whenever other people are bad at something, you have an opportunity.
Because when you learn what everyone else has forgotten, you can clean up.
