Like many people, I’ve spent most of my life yo-yo lifting.

I’d swing from being in great shape to fairly bleh.

And whenever my figure was off and my psyche was taking a beating every time I looked in the mirror, I’d read everything I could about the “best bodybuilding workouts” — all in an attempt to hack my way into a great physique.

I wanted the BEST workouts out there.

The truth?

I was wasting my time.

All those variants of bicep curls I was looking at were irrelevant.

At least, at the stage I was at.

You see, my problem was that I didn’t have much of a body to work with.

I was weak, there simply wasn’t much muscle there.

I didn’t need to bat around the edges of my body with specialized movements, I needed to build up my foundation.

Which was why discovering the “big 6” movements changed my life.

Bench, overhead press, barbell row, chinup/pullups, deadlifts, and squats.

Each compound movement works multiple regional muscles of the body.

Do all 6 as part of your regime, and you’ve pretty much hit 95% (if not more) of you body.

Meanwhile, all those tapered split lunges, negative tricep cable pulls, reverse forward bentover verticle somersalts… well, they might have a role, but only after you’ve got a solid base to work with and are ready to finesse your body and mobility.

Not so much at the beginning, when researching these specialized movements amount to nothing but a glorified circle jerk.

So it is with dating.

Master the fundamentals of frame control, approach women with warm eye contact, qualify her, hold presence in the face of tension, and own your desires… and you’ll be amazed at what happens.

The line about how you’re “a hot air balloon instructer” (yes, this was a real “DHV” line I heard) will seem at best ancillary, and most likely useless.

Fundamentals start with fun for a reason… because if you get them handled, that’s what they lead to.

Peace,
Pat
